Fire crews spent two hours tackling a fire at a derelict house in Edlington on Monday night.
Firefighters from Edlington were called to the end terraced property on Granby Road just after 11.30pm and found the boarded-up house engulfed in flames on the ground floor, first floor and in the roof. They immediately called for further crews from Doncaster and Edlington stations, and an aerial ladder platform, and tackled the fire from height.
They managed to prevent the fire from spreading to any of the other three boarded-up terraced houses in a row of four and left the scene just after 2.00am. An investigation found the cause of the fire to be deliberate.
