


Firefighters will be welcoming local people to Penistone fire station for a fun-packed open day, for the first time since the new station opened last year.
The fire station is opening its doors for the community event on Saturday September 18.
There will be a wide range of activities planned throughout the day, including:
- Chip pan fire demonstration
- Road traffic collision demonstration
- Fire Cadet demonstration
- Car wash to raise money for the Firefigther’s charity
The event will be between 11am and 4pm.
Penistone Station Manager, Andy Hoyland, and said: “This is the first time Penistone station has opened its doors to the public and we are really looking forward to welcoming them.
“We hope the open day will enable the service to forge stronger links with the local community, enabling us to better understand, and respond more effectively, to their needs.
“There will be plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy and firefighters will be on hand to give valuable road and fire safety advice. Everybody is welcome and we’re positive that it will be a fun day for all who attend.”
