Doncaster surgery blaze

Firefighters tackled a major blaze at a disused doctor’s surgery in Doncaster on Saturday.

The fire, involving a 100m x 120m building on Broomhouse Lane, Edlington, started at around 5am and at its height more than 20 firefighters from four different stations were at the scene.

Crews from Edlington, Maltby and Doncaster fire stations used breathing apparatus, hose reels, main jets and an aerial ladder platform (ALP) to tackle the blaze, leaving the scene at 1.30pm.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
