A disused pub has been seriously damaged after a deliberate fire in Sheffield on Wednesday evening.

The fire service was called to the former Traveller's Inn pub on Penistone Road at 9.25pm and attended with three appliances and 15 firefighters. The fire had been started in a store room and spread to the bar area, with smoke damage throughout the two-storey, 25x20m building.

Fire crews put the fire out within an hour and ventilated the building before carrying out an investigation which found the cause to be deliberate.
