Volunteer Roles

Volunteers

The traditional image of the fire and rescue service is of firefighters tackling incidents, but the work we do goes much wider than this.

 

A big part of our role is to work alongside local communities to help make homes safer, educate children and vulnerable people about common hazards and do what we can to prevent emergency incidents happening in the first place.

 

Now we’re looking to make this work even more successful by recruiting a team of volunteers into new roles which will enhance some of the services we deliver to communities.

 

Volunteers will be expected to play a valuable supporting role to our existing community safety teams and in helping to deliver safety messages at our Lifewise Centre in Rotherham.

 

In return, volunteers will gain valuable experience and skills, improving their capabilities and assisting their applications for future, paid employment.

We are recruiting for an Events Facilitator volunteer at our Lifewise Centre, an Assistant Cadet Leader and a Park Run volunteer. Click on the links to find out more information on the roles and click here for an application pack.

 

All the roles are new and none of them will replace existing or former paid roles. Volunteering is a long term development of ours and is in no way connected to future reductions in our funding. It is about enhancing the services we already provide.
