Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to read South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue's Constitution. We hope you will find our Constitution helpful in explaining the ways in which we conduct our business.
The purpose of this Constitution is to set out in a single place and in clear language, how the Authority works, how decisions are made and the procedures which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people. Some of these processes are required by the law, whilst others are a matter for the Authority to determine.
