Firefighters from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue have bravely volunteered to get waxed in order to raise money for two injured colleagues.
Fifteen willing Firefighters will be at Cannons Health Club, White Rose Way, Doncaster on Monday 12 May 2008 at 11.00am. There they will be waxed by four beauticians who have offered their services for free.
Collection buckets will be placed around the Club, where members of the public are invited to come along and watch.
The event has been organised to raise money for Ian Tape and Grant Baugh who were both injured in a fire in Waterthorpe on Friday 1st February 2008. Money will also be split with the Burn Units at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
Firefighter, Fleur Doyle from Mexborough Fire Station who organised the event said: “This is a fun event which will raise a few laughs and hopefully some money for two of our fellow Firefighters, who were seriously injured in a fire.”
