An elderly Rotherham couple were left shaken on Tuesday evening after a car crashed into the front of their bungalow.

The collision, involving a Hyundai Coupe, happened on Lime Grove in Swinton at just before 9pm.

Luckily the couple weren't injured. The two male occupants of the Hyundai were taken to Rotherham District General for a precautionary check-up.

Firefighters from Mexborough, Brampton and Rotherham made the scene safe and called out a gas engineer over fears an external pipe had been damaged.
