Around 20 firefighters spent several hours tackling a large fire at a motor spares business on Lowfield Road, Bolton-Upon-Dearne, Barnsley.

The fire was thought to involve up to 60 cars in an area covering approximately 40 square metres. Three main jets, a light portable pump and breathing apparatus were used to bring the fire under control.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue were called to the scene at 11.38am and fire engines from Adwick, Mexborough and Rotherham fire stations are currently in attendance. They left the scene just after 4pm.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
