Flat Fire Rescue In Sheffield

General
01 April 2010

Firefighters from Mansfield Road and Central station rescued a man from a flat fire in the early hours of Thursday morning in Sheffield.

It is believed a neighbour called 999 after hearing the man’s smoke alarm sounding at around 2am at the maisonettes on Cliff  Street in Highfield.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus had to break in to the property and found the man semi-conscious in the living room, which was on fire.

He was carried outside and taken to the Northern General Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
