A block of six flats in Sheffield was evacuated last night following a fire.
The blaze started in the living room of one of the top floor flats on Lopham Street, Pitsmoor.
Firefighters from Central and Darnall fire stations, plus an aerial ladder platform (ALP), were called to the incident at 10.24pm last night.
The flat was well alight with fire beginning to shoot down the stairwell from the flat’s open door. But firefighters quickly fought back the flames using hose reels and breathing apparatus.
One adult and three children had already escaped the flat and police evacuated the remaining occupants of the other flats.
Fiirefighters left the scene at 1.38am and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, due to an electrical fault.
