


Aston firefighters will be welcoming local people into the station on Sunday 5th September for a fun-packed open day.
There will be a range of activities and demonstrations planned throughout the day, including:
· Road traffic collision demonstration
· Technical Rescue Unit (TRU) display – firefighters trained in specialist rescue techniques will be performing a demonstration
· Chip pan fire demonstration
· Aerial Ladder Platform demonstration
· The Firefighters Charity stall
· Refreshments available
· Police vehicle to educate on hazards and stopping distances
· Fire Police Museum- fire engine rides
· DJ and entertainer from 10 – 4pm
· Local girl Dance group ( Amy’s funky dance) are doing a display
· 2 x sets from a band
· Face painting / glitter tattoos / caricatures
· Small children’s rides / Hook a duck / Soak a firefighter/ stocks etc
· Help for heroes
· RAF recruitment
· Rotherham health
· Local air cadets
· Burger van / Ice cream van
The event will be open between 10am and 4pm.
Aston Station Manager Graham Toms said: “Local people are invited to come along and find out a little more about how things work here at the station. There will be plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy a really good day out. Our firefighters will also be on hand to offer valuable road and fire safety advice”
