Large fire at Industrial units in Rotherham

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue are tonight (23rd June) dealing with a large fire at industrial units on Meadow Bank Road in the Meadowbank area of Rotherham.

Fire crews were called to the incident at 6:55pm.

A number of units are involved in the fire, one of which is used to store office furniture.

Firefighters are advising local residents to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution due to the smoke.

A cordon has been put in place around the vicinity and a number of roads have been closed.

No-one has been injured in this incident.

As at 10pm ten fire engines – fifty firefighters from Rotherham, Darnall, Elm Lane, Central, Mansfield Road and Rivelin stations are currently at the scene.
