Firefighters were called to a derelict warehouse in Doncaster on Thursday evening after a 15 year-old boy fell 30 feet through a roof.

The boy was with a group of friends at the building on Stevens Road in Balby when it’s believed the corrugated roof gave way beneath him.

Paramedics were with the casualty when fire crews from Doncaster and Dearne’s Technical Rescue Unit arrived at the scene around 19:10. They assisted paramedics by using ladders and lines of rope to move the casualty from the building to the ambulance on a stretcher.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
