04 July 2010

More than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze in Doncaster, after a skip fire spread to the roof of a pub.

Six fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms (ALPs) were called to the incident on Sutton Road, Doncaster at around 5am on Sunday morning.

The roof of the pub was well alight and firefighters used five main jets to control the fire.

The A19 and Sutton Road were shut, but no properties in the area were evacuated and no one was in the pub at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
