Adwick-le-Street is a wholetime community fire station covering an area which is mainly agricultural, with large residential areas to the South and East. Adwick-le-Street covers the areas of Adwick-le-Street, Scawthorpe, Scawsby, Bentley, Carcroft, Cusworth, Brodsworth, Marr, Woodlands and Highfields. In recent years we have seen building of a large industrial retail estate known as Redhouse, and a few of the local pits are being redeveloped into nature reserves. Adwick-le-Street also has Community engagement advisors, Arson Intervention Cycles with an Arson Intervention Officer and Young Fire Cadets who train on a Wednesday evening. There are plans to turn Adwick-le-Street fire station into a community station in the near future.

Adwick also has a wildlife garden maintained by local school children and a community room which is available to hire.
