Man Rescued After Scaffolding Fall

A building worker has been rescued by firefighters this morning (Wednesday 16th April) after falling from scaffolding in Sheffield.

Crews from Mansfield Road were called to the incident, on Spring Close Mount in Gleadless, at just before 9am and found the injured man on the 3rd floor of scaffolding.

Firefighters and paramedics worked together to remove the man on a stretcher through a window, and down an internal staircase of the house.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to the Northern General hospital with a suspected broken ankle.


Driver Cut Free After Car Overturns

Rotherham firefighters have used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a woman trapped after her car overturned this morning.

Crews were called to Hollings Lane in Ravenfield at just before 9am and found the car on it’s roof with the woman, in her 40s, trapped inside.

She was cut free and taken into the care of paramedics, suffering from slight neck and back injuries.
