| Corporate Plan 2008-2011 |
|

We are pleased to present you with our updated Corporate Plan for the period 2008 to 2011 which now includes the end of 2007/08 financial year figures. The plan sets out how we will respond in the coming years to the ever changing challenges we face as we work towards meeting the needs of our communities. During the life of this plan the way public services are delivered will change considerably. The emphasis has shifted from each individual organisation (Fire, Police, Council) delivering a finite set of services, to a collective approach to service delivery and engaging communities. What this means for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue is that in addition to providing a core fire and rescue service, a wide range of other services will be provided as part of a joint approach under the auspices of Local Area Agreement. We will continue to direct added emphasis towards the prevention of emergencies and community safety education. The Corporate Plan outlines how we will further improve public safety, reduce the number of emergency incidents and save lives. Our Corporate Plan is presented to you in five parts. Each of these parts is linked to our commitments and objectives. The five parts are: Setting the Scene - including 'Our Vision, Commitments and Objectives' Our Integrated Risk Management Plan Partnership Working Our Resources Our Performance Click on the graphic at the top of the page to open our Corporate Plan 2008 - 2011
