If you have ever wanted to be a newspaper reporter here¹s your chance!

The winner of this exciting competition will get to spend the day with a real reporter and help write real reports for a real newspaper.

Have a look at the following case study and write a news report. It must not be more than one side of A4 paper.

Location: Grange Cinema Cinema manager Ian Wilson.
Date/time: 4pm, 17th April 2006

150 children and parents were watching Pokemon and Tigger the Movie when the alarm was raised. All 150 escaped the smoke filled building without injury.

Cinema will be closed for 6 weeks. Damage estimated at £250,000.

Communal areas such as the foyer have been completely destroyed. Believed to have started in the bar area.

Manager, Ian Wilson said he thought it had started in the bar area when cardboard cut-out set alight.

"We have a wooden roof and the place went up really quickly," he said. "All the communal areas have been completely destroyed. The quickness of it all and the mess is absolutely horrendous"

Police say the incident is suspicious and fire investigators are sifting though the wreckage for clues.

Parent Victoria Blee of Sheffield had taken her children to see Pokemon. She said. "We were watching the film when the stewards came in and said we have to leave. We could not smell any smoke or anything. We just went straight outside. It was all very well organised and we got out quite quickly".
