Man Rescued after Pan Catches Fire

A 50 year old man had to be rescued by firefighters at his ground floor flat this morning, after he fell asleep and a pan on his hob caught fire.

Crews were called to the scene, on Park Mount in Clifton, at 1:32am.  They arrived to find smoke coming from the property, and had to break in as the man was asleep on his sofa.

The smoke was coming from a small fire in the kitchen, where a pan of soup had caught fire.

The man was suffering from smoke inhalation but did not attend hospital.

Firefighters left the scene around 30 minutes later.
