Scania Rescue Pump

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue's 13 new (Type 'B') Rescue Pumps from One UK Ltd are now all in service at stations around the county.

These appliances are built on Scania P Series 17 Ton Chassis with a CP31 crewcab, powered by a 310 hp Euro 4 engine, using Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology.

The Scania cab is a factory built version (not a coach built conversion).  This is seen to be much more attractive from the point of view of giving full major manufacturers warranty.  Also, there is a large amount of interchangeability between cab components within the Scania range, giving better parts availability and researched and developed components.

Other improved items on the new appliances are as follows:-

  • Full all round air suspension, including dropdown at rear when stationary by press of a button.
  • Option of ePump control system.
  • Option of high level hosereels to release rear lower level locker space for heavier items of equipment and gain access to pump side panels for maintenance purposes.
  • Front mounted winch much more concealed within the bumper.
  • Stowage of equipment to the Firestore programme.
  • Pump bay has barn type doors giving better access to fire pump.
  • LED lighting.
  • Sliding locker trays to carry both PPV fan and smaller LPP side by side
  • CAFS firepump system.
  • Front working lights on the cab full width sun visor.
