Wheelie Bin

We're not just TALKING RUBBISH -
Don't let your wheelie bin be next

  • The deliberate ignition of wheelie bins threatens life and property.
  • In the South Yorkshire region there are 1000 wheelie bin fires per year and most are started deliberately.
  • DO NOT allow rubbish to block escape routes.
  • DO NOT store rubbish by windows or any other opening of a building, or store wheelie bins in close proximity to a building, as this may promote the spread of fire.
  • DO NOT put wheelie bins out for emptying until the refuse collectors are due.
  • DO NOT overfill your wheelie bin, or leave loose rubbish round it.
  • Wherever possible store wheelie bins safely and securely, this action will limit the opportunity for arsonists.
