CHRISTMAS EVENTS AT THE FIRE & POLICE MUSEUM

During the 1970's a group of enthusiasts within the South Yorkshire Fire Service formed The South Yorkshire Fire Service Historical Society. Within a few years they had accumulated a large collection of fire service memorabilia which included everything from photographs to fire appliances and had outgrown the limited space available on Fire Service premises. They were then fortunate enough to acquire the old Sheffield Fire & Police Station at a peppercorn rent. This building had been used by various commercial concerns over the years but had miraculously survived virtually in its original condition.

The Museum has gone from strength to strength and is now run by volunteers as a registered charity.

It is open every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday throughout the year from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but special arrangements exist for pre-booked school/group visits.
