Three peaks aim for Sheffield firefighters

The crew are targetting three peaks in 24 hours
12 May 2010

A group of Sheffield firefighters are exchanging their fire boots for walking boots to take part in a Three Peaks Challenge for charity.

The group of six from Central station’s Blue watch will start their climb on Tuesday 18 May.

The climb will include Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike and the firefighters are hoping to complete it within 24 hours.

All the money raised will be split between the Help for Heroes and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice charities.

One of the firefighters, Chris Wragg, said: “Help for Heroes is a charity close to my heart as my older brother is in the forces, and will soon be going to Afghanistan.

“We’ve set ourselves a huge challenge but have been training very hard to make sure we’re in the best possible shape for the big day.”
