A hoax caller is someone who thinks it's funny to call 999 and send the Fire Service to a place where there isn't really an emergency. We have another name for hoax callers - they are called IDIOTS!

Just think - while that team of Firefighters is attending the false alarm someone could be trapped in a burning building with no help! - Not funny at all!

What's more, as every call is recorded on special equipment, hoax callers could find themselves in big trouble with the police.
