To the general public the normal image of a professional Fire Service is the sight of appliances responding to calls through busy city centre streets or pictures in the press or on television of Firefighters dealing with the many incidents that they attend.

This image only portrays the sharp end of the service but behind the scenes we have a team of personnel without whom South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue could not function as a first-rate emergency service.  These personnel range from mechanics who maintain our fleet of appliances, IT Technicians who maintain computing and communications equipment to a whole host of administrative personnel.  Please click here to see if we currently have any vacancies for support staff.
