Crews attend fatal fire in Sheffield

A man in his 90’s has sadly been found dead following a shed fire on Roe Lane in Sheffield.

A fire engine from Elm Lane was called to the incident at around 10:43am today, 3 April 2020.

Upon arrival, firefighters found one shed well alight, with the casualty inside. Using a hose reel, they began to extinguish the fire. Despite the best efforts of the crew, the casualty was pronounced dead at the scene.

A multi-agency investigation in to the cause of the fire has taken place and the fire is deemed to have started accidentally. Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family and friends at this time
