Overnight incidents 24/25 November

A crew from Barnsley dealt with a fire involving a quadbike which was well alight in a stream, off Laithes Lane, Barnsley. The call came in at 3.01pm and firefighters used backpacks to put the fire out. They left the scene at 3.55pm – it is thought the fire was started deliberately.

Three fire engines from Central and Rivelin attended an attic fire on East Grove Road, Sheffield, after being called at 6.50pm. Breathing apparatus wearers extinguished the fire, and cleared the smoke using positive pressure ventilation. They left the scene at 8.12pm. Nobody was injured and it is thought the fire had started accidentally, with something being left too close to a heater.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to reports of a house fire on Netherfield View, Dalton, at 9.32pm. Upon arrival they found a small fire that had started when the occupant had put a slice of pizza in a toaster. They used a bucket to extinguish the fire and left at 9.45pm.

A wheelie bin was set on fire on Harrogate Drive, Denaby Main. A crew from Dearne used a hose reel to put it out. They were called at 1.56am and left at 02.11am – it is thought it was started deliberately.
