Customer Service and Governance Officer


Contract: Fixed term 5 months until 30.06.2020

Salary: Grade 5 (£21,589 - £23,836)


Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week

Work Pattern: Mon - Fri (Flexi time)

A fixed term vacancy has arisen within our Service Delivery Support function for a Customer Services and Governance Officer based at our Headquarters on Eyre Street, Sheffield.

You will take the lead role on a daily basis, in implementing the Freedom of Information Act within SYFR. This will involve receiving requests, researching and responding to them to published timescales, in liaison with service managers and officers, providing advice on exempt information and fees, and meeting statutory deadlines.

You will provide a quality meeting report service for the Corporate Management Board, ensuring timeliness and standard of documents and distribution of agendas.

You will also take the lead role on a daily basis, in the implementation of the compliments and complaints procedures and other relevant customer services functions, liaising with and advising investigating officers on the complaints process to ensure complaints are investigated in line with policy. This will involve working to published deadlines and extensive contact with senior officers, and members of the public.

To be considered for this role you should possess an admin qualification NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and be educated to GCSE (Grade A-C) including Maths and English. You will have previous experience and an understanding of the Freedom of Information Act to be able to implement it effectively; along with having excellent communication and organisation skills, the ability to plan, prioritise and organise to deadlines and be proficient in MS Office applications particularly Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
