Wholetime Crew Manager Transfers

Contract: Wholetime

Work Pattern: Day Staffing

Location: Rotherham or Barnsley Fire Station

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (SYFR) is seeking applications for operational transfers in to the service from wholetime, substantive/permanent contract crew managers (in development or competent in role) for crew manager positions on the day staffing duty system based at the below fire stations:

  • Rotherham Fire Station, Fitzwilliam Road, Eastwood, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S65 1ST
  • Barnsley Fire Station, Broadway, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S70 6RA

To be eligible to apply candidates must currently be a wholetime, substantive/permanent, crew manager in a UK Local Authority Fire & Rescue Service.

However, we are also willing to accept applications from: wholetime, permanent, firefighters that hold a valid promotion ticket but have not yet been appointed to a crew manager role (i.e. who have recently passed a formal crew manager promotion board in their current service); and wholetime, permanent, watch managers that are prepared to accept a contract at crew manager level (such candidates would be required to successfully pass a SYFR Watch Manager Promotion Board in order to be considered for watch manager positions in the future).

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from Wholetime individuals on fixed term contracts or those in armed forces firefighting (including RAF) or airport services.

SYFR is unlikely to be accepting transfers in to any other duty system at present, however if individuals are interested in working a 224 system or on the Operational Resource Team and wish to be considered to form a list for future opportunities if these arise, then please email us directly at recruitment@syfire.gov.uk rather than applying at this stage.

More details on the role, including full eligibility criteria and the recruitment elements can be found here.

An application form can be found here. This should be completed and sent to recruitment@syfire.gov.uk before 11.59pm on Sunday 12 May.
