Maltby is a wholetime station situated on the main A631 through Maltby, approximately 2 miles from Junction 1 of the M18.  The station area is mainly rural but does cover a large industrial estate and has a developing residential area.  There are approximately 15 miles of motorway running through the station area and a number of traffic related accident hotspots.
