Weekend incidents 13/15 December 2024

Saturday

Two fire engines attended a flat fire at a building on St George’s Close, Sheffield after a call was received at 9.25am. The fire was located on the cooking hob and was extinguished using water that was poured onto it. Crews used a ventilation fan to clear the smoke. An inspection found that a faulty extractor fan is likely to have caused the fire. Crews left the scene at 11.07am.

Three fire engines attended a house fire on Bradway Grange Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 5.27pm. The fire was caused by a faulty tumble dryer and was extinguished using one hose reel. The incident had been dealt with by 6.35pm.

Four fire engines attended a fire in a flat on Barton Place, Conisbrough, Doncaster after a call was received at 5.34pm. The fire was caused by a candle in the living room which was thought to be extinguished but wasn’t. The fire was extinguished by crews who used one hose reel. The incident had been dealt with by 6.25pm.

Sunday

One fire engine attended a fire in a farm yard near Penny Hill Lane, Ulley, Rotherham after a call was received at 2.15pm. One hose reel and foam was used to extinguish the fire which was caused by oil drums which had leaked. The incident had been dealt with by 2.42pm.
