Firefighters tackle furnace fire

Fire crews were called to a furnace fire in a commercial building on Beulah Road in Sheffield at 4:10pm on Tuesday.

At the height of the fire eight fire engines from Rivelin, Central, Elm Lane, Parkway, Rotherham and Lowedges were at the scene.

Everyone in the building and surrounding area were evacuated until the fire was extinguished.

The fire was contained to the furnace area.

Five fire crews remain at the scene (6:30pm) damping down and ventilating the premise.
