Safeguarding

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and the Government has placed specific duties on Local Authorities to work closely with partner organisations and agencies to safeguard both children and adults at risk within their area.

Where there are safeguarding concerns, we are committed to protecting and supporting the most vulnerable people, which include children, young people and adults in our communities at risk from abuse and neglect.

We work in partnership with other agencies including our Local Safeguarding Adults Boards and Local Safeguarding Children’s Partnerships across South Yorkshire.
