Overnight incidents – 26/27 October

Firefighters from Central were called to Newsham Road, Sheffield, at 8pm. Upon arrival they found a Vauxhall van well alight. This was dealt with by 8.32pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central, Lowedges and Birley Moor were called to Lowedges Road, Sheffield, at 8.05pm. Upon arrival they found a fire in a bin store, within a sheltered accommodation block. This was causing heavy smoke logging in the hallway. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building, found the store and extinguished the fire. One male resident was treated for smoke inhalation. This was dealt with by 9.57pm.

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to Gildingwells Road, Woodsetts, at 9.11pm. Upon arrival they found an estate car well alight. This was dealt with by 10.07pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to Pontefract Road, Barnsley, at midnight. Upon arrival they found the engine compartment of a car well alight. This was dealt with by 0.38am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to Cotswold Close, Pogmoor, at 1.41am. Upon arrival they found a car well alight. This was dealt with by 2.01am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
