Overnight incidents – 28/29 July

Firefighters from Aston Park, Birley Moor and Maltby were called to Abbey Way North, Anston, at 10.46pm. Upon arrival they found an incident involving a furnace, involving a molten metal, at an industrial unit. This furnace had failed and crews stood by, ready to assist, whilst on-site staff resolved the issue. Nobody was injured and firefighters left at 11.40pm.

Firefighters from Stocksbridge were called to Old Manchester Road, Langsett, at 11.05pm. Upon arrival they found a car well alight. This was dealt with by 11.30pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Maltby were called to Spencer Drive, Ravenfield, at 11.38pm. Upon arrival they found a chimney fire that was visible from the street. The crew had dealt with this by 2am and it is thought to have started accidentally.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to Holyrood Road, Doncaster, at 2.04am. Upon arrival they found a small amount of rubbish alight in an alleyway. This was dealt with by 2.41am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to Aldwarke Lane, Rotherham, at 5.28am. Upon arrival they found a small amount of fly tipped garden waste at the side of the road. This was dealt with by 5.48am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
