Weekend incidents 21-23 August 2020

On Friday at 07:04pm, one pump from Rotherham attended a vehicle fire on North Bridge Road in Doncaster. This was one mini bus involved which had experienced an electrical fault in the engine compartment. Crews left at 07:26pm.

Later on Friday night at 10:20pm, firefighters were called to a warehouse fire on Carlisle Street in Sheffield. Engines from Elm Lane and Central attended to find a large amount of paper inside the building alight. Crews were on scene for around two hours and left at 00:32am. The fire was deemed to be accidental.

Another vehicle fire occurred on Friday night but this time on Coronation Road in Hoyland, Barnsley. The call came in at 11:17pm and one crew from Tankersley attended. This incident involved a vehicle that had been deliberately set on fire and subsequently rolled down the hill damaging a wall, a telegraph pole and another vehicle before coming to a stop. Crews left at 00:24am.

At 00:12am on Saturday morning, one crew from Barnsley station attended a vehicle fire on Higham Common Road in Barnsley. This was an Audi, well alight, which had also spread to an adjacent Honda. The fire was believed to be deliberate and crews left at 01:03am.

A pan had been left on a stove at a home on Stevenson Drive in Herringthorpe, Rotherham. Crews from Rotherham, Maltby and Aston attended this incident at 02:23pm on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters left at 02:55pm.

At 05:13pm Saturday evening, firefighters were called to an incident on Manor Drive in Bennetthorpe, Doncaster. Crews found a bedroom alight. The fire had been caused by candle. All occupants of the house had evacuated prior to fire service attendance.  All persons had evacuated prior to arrival.

At 07:06pm on Saturday, crews were called to an allotment fire on Adwick Road in Mexborough, Doncaster. Dearne and Edlington firefighters attended to find a caravan and shed on the allotment well alight. The incident was deemed to be accidental. Crews left at 08:27pm.
