Weekend incidents 27-29 November 2020

On Friday at around 07:46pm, crews were called to a small vehicle fire on Clifton Avenue in Clifton, Rotherham. Firefighters from Rotherham were in attendance. The vehicle alight was a BMW one series and crews found the vehicle to be smoking from underneath. Firefighters left the scene at 08:00pm and determined the fire to be accidental.

On Saturday at 02:31am, firefighters from Edlington were called to a vehicle fire on Blackwood Avenue in Balby. This was a Silver VW Golf which had been deliberately set alight. The fire was extinguished by the crews and they left the scene at 03:26am.

Fire crews attended a vehicle fire on Butt Lane in Hooton Pagnell on Saturday at 07:53pm. Firefighters from Adwick attended and found an abandoned vehicle well alight. The make and model could not be determined due to the damage. They left the scene at 08:47pm and determined the fire to be deliberate.

Still on Saturday night, crews attended an incident on Central Avenue, East Dene, Rotherham. This was two separate piles of fly tipped refuse in derelict garages. Crews left at 09:19pm and deemed it to have been started deliberately.

At 09:19pm on Saturday night, firefighters attended a small vehicle fire on the A1m Junction 37 – 38. This was a range rover that was being driven by its owner. The owner began to smell smoke, so pulled the vehicle safely over and noticed smoke coming from the engine. On arrival of firefighters from Adwick and Edlington, the vehicle’s engine bay was well alight. Crews left the scene at 10:24pm.
