Weekend incidents 29/31 July 2022

Saturday 30 July

Three fire crews from Elm Lane and Central stations were called out to a premise fire at 12:55am on Fircroft Avenue, Sheffield. The accidental fire involved a tumble dryer. Two people suffered slight smoke inhalation. Firefighters left the scene at 2:05am.

Firefighters from Parkway, Stocksbridge and Central stations attended a flat fire at 1:15am on Willington Road, Sheffield. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately. The crews left the scene at 3:05am.

A car was deliberately set on fire at 2:35am on Main Road, Wharncliffe Side, Sheffield. Firefighters from Stocksbridge station attended the incident. They left at 4:35am.

Three fire crews from Rotherham and Elm Lane stations attended a tumble dryer on fire at a premise on Great Park Road, Kimberworth Park, Rotherham at 10:15am. One casualty went to hospital and a cat was also rescued and given oxygen. The fire is believed to have started accidentally. The crews came away at 3:25pm.

Firefighters from Edlington, Aston and Doncaster stations were called out to a kitchen fire at 10:30am on Hardie Close, Maltby, Rotherham. The fire is believed to have started accidentally. The crews left the scene at 11:35am.

Central firefighters attended a deliberate fire involving a vehicle and a moped at 6:15pm on Paddock Crescent, Sheffield. The crew came away at 7:35pm.

A motorbike was deliberately set on fire at 8:35pm on Water Slacks Road, Sheffield. Firefighters from Birley Moor station attended the incident. They left at 9pm.

Sunday 31 July

Doncaster and Maltby firefighters were called out to an accidental vehicle fire at 5:05pm on the M18 between Junction 2 and Junction 1, southbound. Firefighters left the scene at 5:50pm.
