Woman and dog rescued from house fire

A woman and her dog have been rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out at her home during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Three fire crews from Central, Rivelin and Mansfield Road fire stations were called at 00:20am on Sunday to the house fire on Renshaw Road in Sheffield.

Firefighters arrived to find the fire on the ground floor of the property with the lady in an upstairs bedroom.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire and led the woman (60s) down and out of the house to safety.

Crews administered first aid to the woman at the scene, but she didn’t need to go to hospital.

Firefighters left the scene at 3am.
