Bin appeal after overnight fires

Firefighters from Cudworth, Doncaster and Elm Lane dealt with three separate bin fires overnight.

The first call was at 10.42pm yesterday (Tuesday 24 September) to a bin fire on Canal Street Barnsley. This was thought to be deliberate, and dealt with by 11.18pm, by a crew from Cudworth.

The second was at 2.14am today (Wednesday 25 September) to a wheelie bin that had been set alight and pushed into a bus shelter on Carr House Road, Doncaster.

This was dealt with by Doncaster firefighters by 2.31am and is also thought to have been started deliberately.

The third and final incident overnight was on Palgrave Road at 7.05am. This was a blue bin that had been set alight deliberately.

It was dealt with by firefighters from Elm Lane by 7.24am.

Following the incidents the service is urging people to make sure bins aren’t left out overnight.
