Crews attend fatal incident on St. Lawrence Road

Fire crews from Parkway, Rotherham, Elm Lane and Barnsley are currently attending a serious fire on St. Lawrence Road in Sheffield.

Crews remain on the scene.

There may be some local transport disruption in the local area while emergency services remain on the scene.

Crews remain on the scene at St. Lawrence Road in Sheffield and continue to fight the fire. The fire is largely contained to one flat located on the second floor of the building.

A multi-agency investigation into the cause of the fire will take place once the fire is completely out.

Update: 13:54pm

Unfortunately a man has died following a fire at his flat on St. Lawrence Road in Tinsley, Sheffield.

Fire crews from Parkway, Rotherham, Elm Lane and Barnsley responded to the incident at 10:55am this morning (31 October 2018) and officers still remain on the scene.

Upon arrival, crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the flats to tackle the fire which was located on the second floor of the building. There were no other casualties involved in the incident.

A multi-agency investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire.

Following a multi-agency investigation, the cause of the fire on St. Lawrence Road is believed to be deliberate however police are not treating it as suspicious.
