Electrical blaze sparks hospital check ups for Sheffield family

A family were treated in hospital after a fire in their home in Sheffield.

Fire crews from Parkway and Central were called to the incident on Dagnam Road shortly after 3am on Wednesday (1 August).

The fire in the living room of the property was almost out when crews arrived, but firefighters used specialist fans to ventilate the smoke logged home.

A man in his 30s suffered minor burns and cuts to his feet caused by broken glass and melted plastic as a result of the fire. A woman and two children also escaped the fire, and were taken to hospital for precautionary check ups.

It’s thought that the fire started accidentally, with electrical equipment the most likely cause.
