Hot dogs catch fire, smoke alarms raise alarm

Smoke alarms alerted a resident to a fire involving a pan of hot dog sausages.

The occupant of the home on Plowright Close, Sheffield had taken a phone call at around 1am on Friday forgetting that their sausages were on the hob.

The pan boiled dry, causing the sausages to burn and filling the kitchen with smoke.

Luckily, working smoke alarms raised the alarm and Central, Birley Moor and Parkway firefighters arrived to make the scene safe and ventilate the property.
