Overnight incidents 12/13 November

Firefighters tackled a fire in a property on St Mary’s Road, Edlington at around 6.46pm on Tuesday. An older person had put an electric kettle onto a kitchen hob. The fire was confined to the kettle. Smoke alarms raised the alarm and firefighters from Edlington and Doncaster fire stations responded.

Another kitchen fire took place at a property on Great North Road, Woodlands near Doncaster just before 10pm. Paper left on the hob ignited, filling the kitchen with smoke. The fire was out on arrival, but firefighters from Adwick and Askern stations used fans to ventilate the property. An ambulance also arrived, as the occupier had suffered minor burns to their hands and smoke inhalation.

Fly-tipped rubbish was set alight on Townend Avenue in Dalton. Rotherham firefighters used a hose reel to put out the blaze at around 10.30pm.

A Vauxhall Astra was set alight on White Cross Lane, Worsbrough at around 3.30am. Barnsley fire station responded.

A car was also set alight on Broomhill Drive in Cantley. It was already out when Doncaster firefighters arrived, at around 2.30am.
