Overnight incidents – 21/22 September

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to a house on Reresby Road, Whiston, at 7.06pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of rubbish and line of conifers well alight. This was dealt with by 7.38pm and is thought to have started accidentally, with an out-of-control garden fire.

Firefighters from Parkway, Birley Moor and Central were called to Spotswood Drive, Sheffield, at 7.10pm. Upon arrival they found a smoke logged flat. There was no fire but the smoke logging came from a pan on the hob, which had been left unattended when the occupier fell asleep. This was dealt with by 7.45pm.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Pinfold Lane, Thorne, at 8.39pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of fly tipped waste well alight. This was dealt with by 9.15pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to King Edward Road, Balby, at 8.53pm. Upon arrival they found a bin on fire to the rear of a house in an alley way. This was dealt with by 9.22pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central were called to Edenhall Road, Sheffield, at 9.22pm. Upon arrival they found some rubbish on fire in a car park. This was dealt with by 9.48pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rotherham, Tankersley and Dearne were called to Wild Avenue, Rawmarsh, at 9.48pm. Upon arrival they found a fire at the top of the stairs in a property involving some carpet and loose planks of wood. This was dealt with by 11.23pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.
