Overnight incidents – 22/23 September

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Hastilar Road, Sheffield, at 7.46pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of household rubbish that had been set alight on some wasteland. This was dealt with by 8.09pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Cherry Tree Grove, Dunscroft, at 11.20pm. Upon arrival they found a shed fire that had already been put out. This is thought to have started with a discarded cigarette setting light to some paper in a bucket, and spreading to the shed. The crew left the scene at 11.39pm.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to James Street, Barnsley, at 11.34pm. Upon arrival they found two wheelie bins had been set on fire. This was dealt with by 11.47pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Birley Moor were called to the Herdings Park tram stop on Raeburn Road, Sheffield. Upon arrival they found two bins had been wheeled on to the tram track and set alight. This was dealt with by 0.18am.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to Alma Road, Moorgate, at 3.20am. Upon arrival they found a skip well alight. This was dealt with by 3.56am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
