Overnight incidents – 25/26 March

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to the A57 near Swallownest at 8.36pm. Upon arrival they found a hedge on fire. This was dealt with by 9.04pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to East Gate, Moorends, Doncaster, at 8.45pm. Upon arrival they found a street bin on fire. This was dealt with by 9pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rossington were called to Allenby Crescent, New Rossington, at 8.45pm. Upon arrival they found a bonfire in the back garden of a property was causing a huge smoke plume that was covering several houses on the street. This was dealt with by 9.07pm.

Firefighters from Thorne came across a grass fire on King Street, Thorne, at 9.04pm as they drove past. This was dealt with by 9.08pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to Bluebell Road, Woolley, at 9.11pm. Upon arrival they found a wheelie bin had been taken into some woods and set alight. This was dealt with by 9.54pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Marshland Road, Moorends at 9.22pm. Upon arrival they found a large amount of waste being burned. Crews explained to the man in attendance that he wasn’t allowed to burn such materials and extinguished the fire. This was dealt with by 9.46pm.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to a service station on Prince of Wales Road, Sheffield, at 9.53pm. Upon arrival they found a grass fire at the side of a road. This was dealt with by 10.26pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Birley Moor were called to Mansfield Road, Waleswood, at 10.19pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of rubbish had been dumped at the entrance to a horses field and set alight. This was dealt with by 10.59pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Orgreave Place, Sheffield, at 1.50am. Upon arrival they found a large amount of fly tipped rubbish well alight. This was dealt with by 2.59am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to Pontefract Road, Lundwood, at 2.32am. Upon arrival they found a wheelie bin on fire. This was dealt with by 2.49am and is thought to have been started deliberately. The same crew were then called to a similar incident further down the road involving a wheelie bin on fire. This was dealt with by 2.55am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to Reservoir Road, Ulley, at 4.34am. Upon arrival they found a pile of rubbish on fire. This was dealt with by 4.57am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
