Sheffield crews called to large rubbish fire in commercial yard

Firefighters from Central and Elm Lane fire stations were called to a fire at the junction of Atlas Street and East Earsham Street at 10.08pm last night (Tuesday 28 May).

Upon arrival they found a large rubbish fire in a commercial yard. Supported by a JCB driver who helped separate the rubbish the crew used various jets to extinguish the fire.

After damping down and ensuring the fire hadn’t spread to neighbouring buildings, firefighters left the scene at around 0.23am.

Nobody was injured and it is though the fire started accidentally.
