Smoking hot ribs

Fire crews were called to a flat on Arundel Street, Sheffield at 5:15pm on Saturday evening.

Three fire engines attended from Central headquarters and Elm Lane. Upon arrival, fire fighters discovered some over-cooked ribs under the grill. Once removed, they ventilated the smoke logged kitchen.

There were no casualties, and crews left the scene an hour later.

This is a reminder that food should never be left cooking unattended. You should also ensure your oven is kept clean and free from grease to decrease the chances of a fire.
